Tom was first introduced to Muskoka as a newborn. His most vivid childhood memories are summers here surrounded by family, swimming, exploring nature and a few thousand falls on his water skis.Tom continued to deepen his connection with the area into adulthood; he worked for the Canadian Coast Guard Rescue Program out of Honey Harbour for four summer seasons; he played saxophone at Muskoka resorts, local bars and restaurants, and; Tom made connections with others who shared his industrious nature.
With 15 years in corporate sales and marketing and almost three decades of experience in the music industry, Tom had the great opportunity to travel the world, but the draw of Muskoka living has always remained part of his life.
In 2010, Tom and Beverley made the permanent move to the family cottage on Lake Muskoka, and since 2015, Tom has been helping others find their own slice of Muskoka heaven.“I always knew I would move to Muskoka full time,” Tom says. “I am happy it happened. I love to sell and what better place to do it then on the Muskoka Lakes.”Tom Cross Real Estate is grounded in the experience and expertise of Tom and his team–of the lakes and the history of the property and surrounding area–but its success is driven by Tom’s persistence to fulfill his client’s buying and selling wants and needs. In any industry, Tom’s success lies in the success of his clients.
As a real estate agent, the details are crucial to Tom. “I don’t want the sale just to get the deal. It has to work for the buyer in terms of their checklist, as in the perfect home, cottage, investment. It has to be something my client’s will love year after year. I want their call the next time.” Whether he’s helping a client buy or sell a property, Tom finds out what’s important to his clients and drives them to the finish line.
In his spare time, Tom enjoys boating, golfing and spending time with family and friends – what he calls the “real cottage deal.” He also continues to work as a consultant in the music industry, and both he and Beverley use their stage to give back to the Muskoka community. “From my playing days in the 70’s, music and Muskoka have gone hand-in-hand. Beverley and I love continuing that tradition.”
